Tom is the Chief Research Officer of KCAIL. He leads the research design process for new projects and ensures the quality of projects as they progress through the research life-cycle.
Tom’s substantive research tends to focus on the development and application of novel methods to answer questions in the social sciences. He is currently focusing on deep learning and reinforcement learning as applied to economic modeling and problems of political economy. He has taught courses in research design, statistics, and machine learning. He holds a PhD from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
When not working on projects for KCAIL, Tom enjoys working on projects for KCAIL.
